A pre-employment medical assessment screens individuals for factors that may limit their ability to safely perform their job and avoid injury. It is therefore often best for the employee and best for the business if pre-employment medicals are undertaken.
Pre-employment examinations may include physical exams as well as health inquiries including drug and alcohol tests, psychological tests, and physical or mental health assessments. Additionally, employees may be required to have physicals if health or fitness is a job requirement.
