Worrigee Medical Centre opening back in 2008 from 1 Doctor to having 13 Doctors working part time or full time now in 2019.

Our goal is to provide a quality, caring service affordable medical service to the community.

We have a collaborative health care team made up of general practitioners (GP'S), practice nurses (PN's) including, mental health nurses, Psychologist, a credentialed diabetes educator, podiatrists an external pathology service provider, dietitians a practice administration team.

Our Proactive health practitioners identify preventative and chronic disease care concerns, address risky lifestyle behaviours, domestic violence, suicide risk, identify falls risk and refer clients for follow-up services within the practice and the community.

Worrigee Medical Centre runs an appointment system: however, we do keep openings for emergencies. You can make an appointment with your doctor by phoning the surgery or online via the app or at shoalhavenfamilymedicalcentres.com.au. Urgent medical problems will be dealt with promptly. Appointments are made at 10-20 minute intervals. When making your appointment please advise staff if you have forms to fill in or you need extra time.

Nobody likes to be kept waiting and we are all aware of this and try to adhere to appointment schedules. However, the unpredictable nature of medical practice means that doctors sometimes run behind time. This is mostly due to a patient requiring urgent medical attention. We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused to patients when we fall behind with our appointment schedule.

We also have a Pharmacy onsite for all your prescription needs and other miscellaneous items.

Basin View Medical Centre was opened in 2004. Originally it was located in the village complex next door. In July 2013 we moved into our new purpose-built medical centre next door to our old premises. We are a bulk billing practice that aims at providing access to quality primary health care services.

The move to bigger premises allowed us to add additional services, our third doctor as well as a podiatrist, social worker and now a psychologist. We currently have 3 receptionists, one full time and one part time nurses and 3 full time doctors.

Dr Sithara Bogoda who specialises in women’s health, paediatrics and geriatrics.

Dr Hoa Nguyen who specialises in Women’s Health, Children’s Health, Preventive Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease Management, Chronic Disease Management, Minor Surgery, Mental Health and Geriatric Medicine.

Dr Chaminda Hettige (our male doctor) who has special interests in skin cancer and men’s health.

Culburra Beach Medical Centre was acquired at the retirement of Dr Lawrence Finley in 2007 and established in the Community Building attached to the ambulance station at Culburra Beach.

The Culburra Beach Medical Centre currently has four doctors providing quality primary healthcare in accordance with our mission statement:

To assist our practitioners we have a diverse team of administrators, nurses, diabetes educators, mental health nurses and podiatry as well as other allied health providers who come under the umbrella of Shoalhaven Family Medical Centres who collaboratively work together in the best interests of our patients.
